Belluzzo International Partners tax advisor in the entry of the PATRIZIA Fund into the capital of Biomet
PATRIZIA Infrastructure has acquired 80% of Biomet’s capital, an Italian company that invests in the compressed, liquid and renewable gas sectors, focusing in particular on the production, logistics and distribution of liquid biomethane. The Biomet project will see the construction of the largest European plant for the production of biomethane from waste and will be the first plant in Italy directly connected to the SNAM national gas transport network, with an on-site refuelling station.

This is a transaction worth 75 million euros, and marks the fund’s entry into the green energy production infrastructure sector in Italy.

PATRIZIA Infrastructure acquired the stake from Italian gas entrepreneur Walter Lagorio and Ankorgaz. Biomet’s CEO and founder Antonio Barani remains a minority shareholder with a 20 per cent stake.

For the financial and legal transactions, PATRIZIA Infrastructure was assisted by EY, GOP and Willis Towers Watson, while Walter Lagorio and Ankorgaz were assisted by BNP Paribas and White & Case for the M&A part. Luigi Belluzzo and Alessandro Saini, Partners in Belluzzo International Partners, together with Senior Consultant Ivan Mastrototaro handled the tax aspects of the transaction for Ankorgaz.
